Aim of the Network

What current initiatives is your network doing to represent and support your BAME colleagues?

We are signed up to the Black on Board Programme, The G15 pledge, Leadership 2025 as well as the G15 Accelerate programme.

We are also currently working on events for Black History Month, are pulling together a 5 page focus on Black history in our Peabody magazine, Sept edition that will go out to staff and residents alike.

The Network is also reviewing data to identify areas for improvement regarding BAME promotions, recruitment, pay etc and continue to collaborating with the ED&I group and HR to move forward with positive change.

What is the current number of colleagues that are members of the network?

We currently have 74 members

Is there an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy in place for your organisation?

Yes, Peabody have an ED& I strategy in place although that is going through a major refresh.

We are in the process of recruiting an ED&I lead for Peabody and the Network will be working closely with them to feed into the strategy and subsequent action plans.

Tell us a little bit about what your organisation is currently doing outside of your network to meet the ED&I strategy?

We have other diversity networks; LQBTQ+, Gender, Family and we are currently looking at the prospects of establishing a Disability Network, sessions, events and networking opportunities to bring awareness of the challenges facing members of these networks are organised throughout the year.

How do colleagues within your organisation sign up to become members of your BAME network?

Prospective members send an email to the BAME Network email address and a link is sent to them to complete our online membership form. Members can also access the link directly which is on the BAME Network page (on our Intranet) to register.
