Membership

Thirty organisations, acting as one.

Corporate membership of UNIFY, what it opens up for your colleagues, and how the network got here.

What membership includes

Five things, and none of them a newsletter

30 Membership is capped at thirty social housing providers and carries an annual commitment from each. The cap is deliberate: it is what keeps the forum a conversation rather than an audience.

  • Development

    Leadership Now!

Eight months of bespoke workshops, one to one coaching, peer conversation and personality profiling. CPD certified, subsidised for members, with access to the private alumni network afterwards.

  • Peer support

    Staff Network Forum

An hour every other month, on Teams or in person, for the people who run staff networks. Governance, managing volunteers, and how not to burn out doing it.

  • Convening

    Annual conference

Chief executives and sector stakeholders in one room, on where equity work is actually going rather than where it is reported to be going.

  • Culture

    Cultural events

Ramadan and Eid, Black History Month, Pride and Christmas. Open to your colleagues, not only to network members.

  • Mentoring

    G15 Mentoring Programme

Development and sales mentoring for colleagues from ethnically diverse backgrounds, matched across organisations so the relationship sits outside your own reporting line.

The membership journey

From five networks to the whole G15

  1. 2016

    Five networks, one room

Staff network groups meet for the first time in October and agree to keep meeting.

    • Clarion
    • Notting Hill
    • Peabody
    • Genesis
    • L&Q
  2. 2019

    Chief executives join the conversation

G15 chief executives sit down with UNIFY to discuss the experience of colleagues from ethnically diverse backgrounds. The network stops being something happening alongside the sector and becomes something happening inside it.

  3. 2020

    The G15 Ethnic Diversity Pledge

UNIFY members contribute the lived experience behind a sector-wide commitment, including a 30% target for board representation.

  4. 2022

    Membership becomes formal

The first G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards are held in May, and UNIFY moves to a membership model so staff can reach initiatives their own organisation does not run.

  5. 2023

Every G15 organisation is a member

For the first time, all of the G15 join. Leadership development, cultural programming and a standing forum for EDI discussion become available to every member organisation.
